Why I Use An Oil Diffuser + Some AMAZING Oil Blends
Hello Steemians!
Today I want to share something amazing with you, that has so many great benefits for both your mental and your physical health, and overall energetic health.
Oil Diffusers!
Chances are you have heard about oil diffusers at some point, because they are certainly all the rage- er, I mean zen?- right now.
I got my first oil diffuser a little over a year ago, and I cannot say enough good things about it! Mine is a Now brand ultrasonic metal touch diffuser.
It even lights up and changes colors! Isn't it so pretty??
Oil diffusers have so many fantastic benefits, plus they make it smell good, too! One of the great things about oil diffusers is that they can be used for almost anything , depending on what oils you use.
Before we get too far into this, let me just say the old please note that I'm not a doctor and I don't sell pharmaceuticals so I might not know anything about health!.... So please use essential oils at your own caution, after doing your own research.... Yeah, you get the point.
The Benefits of Oil Diffusers
Oil diffusers purify the air, improve respiratory health, improve your mood, and generally just uplift the whole vibe of the room. As I said mine is ultrasonic which works by combining the oils with water and releasing the oils by vibrating them into a fine mist. There are a variety of different types of diffusers, you just want to make sure your diffuser doesn't work by heating up. If your diffuser heats up, it will destroy the healing and beneficial properties of the oils, essentially rendering them ineffective. You don't want this. You can read more about the benefits of diffusers, and the different types of diffusers here and here. Oil diffusers can even kill mold and bacteria!
Essential Oils
The wide range of potential benefits that come with oil diffusers depend on the oils you use! First off, you want to make sure you are using good quality, 100% pure oils. Good quality oils can be a little pricey, but they are so worth it. Right now, I use Now brand oils. I have found them generally to be of very good quality. Obviously, if you want your oils to be as healthy as possible you will want them to be organic and non-GMO, you want them to be as pure as possible.
Essential oils are made directly from the plant and are essentially a really potent blend of all of the healing and medicinal properties of the plant. They are VERY strong, so as I said use them with caution. You don't need to be scared of them just know how to dilute them and use them properly. More on that here. Also if you have pets, ESPECIALLY CATS be sure the oils you are using aren't toxic to them. Read about it here. Cats are particularly sensitive to oils. However, oils can also be beneficial to pets if used carefully.
As of now, the oils I'm using aren't organic because there aren't a ton of organic options yet. Now is starting to get organic oils, including their peppermint and lavender. I believe they are working on going organic with more of their oils, which will be great!
Also, @daniarnold has a website for organic and natural skincare, and I believe will soon also be offering organic essential oils and essences! I know I will be looking forward to the rosemary and lavender! I believe she is also accepting payments in cryptocurrency.
Different oils have different purposes. For example, lavender and chamomile are calming. Peppermint is good for headaches along with eucalyptus, tummy upsets, and is good for dogs. Lavendar, eucalyptus, and rose are fantastic for balancing hormones. Citronella, lemongrass and peppermint can help deter bugs. The possibilities are endless! Read more about different oils and their benefits here.
EDITED TO ADD : @daniarnold pointed out in the comments that anyone with a history of epilepsy and seizures should not use rosemary oil, or should use it with extreme caution!
