How to cope with an injury?

in #healthy8 years ago (edited)

So I definitely consider myself to be pretty active. I started my journey of living healthy at the young age of 18. I was near 200 lbs at the time and lost the weight quite quickly. Since then I have gained 10 lost 30 gained 15 and so on...... It has definitely been a roller coaster ride.

Currently I'm at a 170lbs and loving every inch of my body. I've worked my ass off for this and it's very rewarding. I really locked into gear when my heart was broken two years ago. The gym was my therapy and I slowly started to gain my confidence back. Heart break does something to women well at least this woman. I lost my sense of worth.

ANYWHO lol. I totally went on a rant there..... I suffered an injury two weeks ago!!! I have arthritis in my knees that has taken a turn for the worse. I'm currently barely able to walk without using a brace. I'm trying to stay encouraged but not being able to workout is getting the best of me. I'm trying to watch what I eat but laying here all day makes that very hard. Has anyone in the steemit community been in a similar position? How did you cope? Any suggestions and feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sincerely yours,
