My Superfood Spices Latte
I have been drinking this cup of latte enhance with so many different spices since the beginning of winter and I can't tell how much I love it. It is the perfect beverage for a cold evening, a sweet morning (or even mid-day break to help our system to keep going through the day). I am totally obsessed with it. This latte has so many health benefits it is insane. We easily forget that herbs and spices have so much impact and benefits on our health. The use of them in this latte make it more flavourful and healthful. So don't be shy to spice up every meal and drink you have. It is good for your taste and your immune system.
Tumeric
Maca
Cardamonn
Cinnamon
Ginger
Black pepper
Coconut oil
For this recipe I use a blend of plant-based milk made from homemade coconut milk and almond milk. It gives to this latte a real creamy, rich texture and an amazing taste.
Turmeric is quite well known now for everyone for it is anti-inflammatory benefits that support a healthy digestion, the liver function, boost our immune system, protect our brain and heart.
Maca is not a spices but a root it is true but it has an unique health benefit and a little caramel taste that give a kick to the recipe. More than that Maca powder is known to boost our energy, regulate our hormone (women you need it !!)
A dash of ginger to improve our digestion and reduce inflammation.
Some cinnamon for its high content of antioxidant and regulate blood sugar. But also for the taste of course !!
At this point, you maybe be thinking what the hell black pepper is doing here ? Well, black pepper has shown to help turmeric to be more bioavailable for our body. it makes turmeric more powerful and active for us.
Coconut oil as a healthy fat in order to improve the absorption of turmeric and all this other nutrients in our body and to protect the brain.
I also use some date syrup to give to this latte all the sweeteness it need.

Have you tried making it as a paste with fresh turmeric and ginger? You have reminded me.. must post about this soon x In Australia, heaps of cafes offer turmeric lattes now, but never as good as homemade. Used to make them all the time as a kid leaving home. Turmeric stains everywhere! Love your work.
