Been spending lots of time in the garden this spring and things have finally wound down enough for me to get back on Steemit! Here's my pictures for the contest...

A shot of the whole backyard! 6 raised beds (new this year) filled with potatoes, sweet potatoes, brassicas, greens, beans, peas, carrots, radish, and beets. Behind that our 7 chickens and their run, berry bushes along the back fence, squash, tomatoes, corn, onions, and asparagus in the corner behind the dome, and then the "forest garden" with medicinal herbs under the trees...

This is a closer shot of the raised beds that we have potatoes and other more root bearing crops since we have such rocky clay soil here in Colorado. They have shade cloths over them to protect from hail and my cat mistaking them for giant litter boxes! (It keeps her out!)

A close up of some Valarian that I started from seed 3 years ago, its now as tall as me and fully in bloom in the forest garden. It's roots are good for making a sleep aid... but with all this work I don't really need it (;
