Let's go make yogurt
It is one of the oldest food in the world. But do we know what the health benefits of yogurt are?
Several studies have investigated the relationship between yogurt consumption and human health, with the following benefits:
1.GASTROINTESTINAL HEALTH
The consumption of yogurt helps to regulate the intestinal transit, making it not be "lazy", that is, it promotes the good functioning in cases of constipation.
2.IMMUNITY HEALTH
The bacteria present in yogurt help counteract the pathogenic bacteria present in the intestine, as well as intervene in the production of substances related to defense reactions.
3.BONE HEALTH AND OSTEOPOROSIS PREVENTION
Because it is derived from milk, yogurt is a good source of calcium, an important mineral for bone health.
In addition to helping during the process of bone and tooth growth, it can also help prevent diseases such as osteoporosis, especially in women.
4.CONTROL OF HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE
The intake of lean (low fat) dairy products helps regulate blood pressure because of its potassium content, which helps balance blood sodium levels.
5.BEST LACTOSE DIGESTION
During the processing of the yogurt, part of the lactose is degraded in the fermentation process, causing the individuals with lactose intolerance to accept the yogurt better.
6.HELP IN WEIGHT LOSS
There is evidence that the intake of calcium and protein from dairy products, including yogurt, can help burn fat as well as promote weight loss more quickly.
You can make your own yogurt (like me) or you can buy it.
