Guard Your Heart

In the Bible, the heart is likened to a reservoir that brings out whatever is in it. For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh. It goes with the saying that the heart is the engine room of the words that come out of the mouth. Since all men are born with a depraved heart, no one can properly guide his or her tongue until the problem of heart has been dealt with.

For out of the heart proceeds evil thoughts....These are the things which defile a man... To have your heart guided, the tips below are recommended.

First, let God rule your heart! his means you must genuinely give your life to the Lord Jesus Christ and walk daily in Him in total obedience. Second, pray always for a sanctified heart and a holy life.

Ask God to give you a broken heart and a contrite spirit. Pray that every root of sin and appearance of evil be removed from your heart. Third, keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it comes the issues of life. To keep the heart, carefully observe what you allow into it through your eyes, ears, mouth and even nose. what do you feed your heart with? It is also very essential that you think twice before you either speak or act. In Mathew 12:33 the Bibles says "Either make the tree good, and its fruit shall be good or make the tree corrupt and its fruits corrupt.

If you allow corruption and defilement into your heart, then be sure that you will reap the consequences of its fruit. Furthermore, renew your heart daily with the word of God. Read the word of God, meditate on it, confess it to your life and you will have a spiritually-healthy heart.

In addition, keep your heart under thew cleansing flow of the blood of Jesus. The Blood of Jesus christ purges, purifies and cleanses us from filtiness of iniquities. Finally, depend on the Holy Spirit and let Him keep a guard on your heart and lips. You don't need to speak out all that is on your mind. May the Lord help you to guard your heart with all dilligence.
