The joy of being present
Based on the book “Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle.
I would like to introduce you to one of fascinating concepts I have learnt recently. A concept I believe each one needs to become aware of to lead a peaceful life.
Life has been given to us one moment after another. There are no past or future at any certain moment, they are nothing but thoughts and images in our minds.
Past no longer has its physical form with its pains or joys. No matter how long you keep thinking about past, you will never change it. Taking into consideration that our subconscious minds doesn’t discriminate between imagination and reality thus every painful moment you relive in your imagination has the same effect on your body the original moment has. Future is not yet here and when it comes it should not necessarily be the same you keep bothering about. How many times you imagined a certain event and when it came it felt entirely different from what you imagined. Think about the time and energy you waste imagining moments that never come. You still need to plan some moments in future and remember others in past but you don’t need to stay there anticipating or recreating them again and aging.
The only point of time that is real is the present moment. Time is always now, otherwise it can’t be. And in present moment there is nothing but the natural joy of being, the joy felt by a child who haven’t yet been taught to over-thinking past or anticipating future. When you are happy you don’t think of past or future, you become simply present.
Being present doesn’t involve fighting your thoughts or trying to suppress them, it simply requires you to bring them into awareness. The more you become aware of them the less they can control you. When watching your thoughts you will start to notice gaps of silence between them and the more you become aware the more the gaps expand.
Harnessing the peaceful ness of present moment is not something you attain immediately; it is something you keep allowing one day after another. It is not either something you fight to reach rather you surrender to.
Be aligned with every moment by accepting whatever arises in it is the doorway to become free of thinking, to become more aware of how thoughts control you and to be more of whom you truly are.
Peace, love and joy.
Thanks

Now, that just gave me a moment of clarity. Thx!
Good for you, Keep in touch:)
I just read this! My favorite thought from the book is this:
"What will my next thought be?"
It is one of best as it keeps you aware.
True words time is everything without time we are lost in Continuum
SO MUCH LOVE FOR ECKHART TOLLE!
His words were Buddhism for me- the dialogue that started fulfillment.
Not telling me what to believe or how to believe, but to accept.
Accepting that the only things that are MEANT to happen are the things happening in this moment.
The power of now- what a life we all live(:
Glad you liked the article.
