Cyber threats vs Blockchain, AI and Cybersecurity - Heroic.com

I have a new article today where I would like to share with you something and hear your thoughts about it. I will talk about one very important issue in world we live in. It is security, cyber security to be exact.

I’ll be honest I shop online all the time. It is cheaper, don’t have to go to the shop, wait in long lines, enjoying smell from strangers and mostly it is a waste of time. It is easier to visit web shop, add items and then use credit card to pay it. Last few years every person I’ve met that is using online shopping or registering on web sites is quite calm when using his or her data on the internet, me included. When did we become so trustworthy using our card number on unknown web sites to pay something we don’t even know if it will come?

In crypto world for example people are just giving their data to ICOs in “Know Your Customer” (KYC) process. Huge number of ICOs is a scam and people are giving their info just like that?
I specially love the part where people give their ID card photos without any question or guarantee. Have you at least ask for GDPR solutions on the project? Most passwords for emails or high value accounts can be returned just by sending an copy of ID card, and you just gave one to unknown people because they asked for it. Sites like PayPal will reset your password if you send them ID card and no one see that as a potential threat when giving KYC an ID card?
You can just give them your secret question / answer for email or pin code to credit card. It is easier for them. With ID card it can be used to open an exchange account and get you in trouble with IRS where you have registered transactions on your name done by someone else. Identity theft is not uncommon issue this days and this is only one form of cyber threat. Hacker attacks are sophisticated more and more every day.

Steemers threats are real, every year increasing at exponential rates. There wont be a world without them as long as envy and jealousy are out there, but I think we should work on everything we can to prevent as many as we can.
