THE SILBON
It is, according to legend, a young man who murdered his parents and is condemned to wander eternally with a sack full of the bones of his parents.
It has a characteristic whistle that resembles the musical notes do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, si, in that same order raising the tone until fa and then going down to the note itself. It is said that when his whistle is heard very close there is no danger, since the whistling is far away, but if it is heard far away it is because it is close. It is also said that listening to his whistle is an omen of one's own death.
The legend of Silbón was born in the mid-nineteenth century in the Venezuelan plains and some scholars believe it was a form of social control that tradition created to avoid the infidelities of men.
The legend says that El Silbón travels through the llanera region with a whistle that shudders when heard. It is confusing, because when you listen closely it is because it is far away, and vice versa.
The confirming sign that the spirit roams the neighborhood is a characteristic noise of bones that collide with each other.
It is believed that he carries them in a sack, on his shoulder. Some think they are the bones of their most recent victims; others, who belong to their own father.
By the time you hear the "crac-crac", however, it may be too late.
They say that there was once a young man who discovered that something strange was happening between his father and his wife.
Some say the old man hit the girl. Others maintain that he raped her.
"I did it because it's a gift," was the explanation the old man gave his son.
The legend continues that the young man erupted in fury, and engaged in a fight to the death with his father.
Of the two, the father bore the brunt. The young man hit him hard on the head with a stick, which knocked him to the ground, where the son rushed to him and hanged him.
After death the son ate the roast (that is, the liver, the heart and the bofe).
The young man's grandfather, who heard about the fight, went in search of the victim, to all intents and purposes, his son. The grandfather swore to punish the young man, his own flesh and blood, for the horrendous crime he had committed ... against his own flesh and blood.
Soon he found it. Then he tied him up and gave him a barrage of lashes with a "scroller of the neck", typical of the plain.
"That's not done to his father ... You're damn, pa'to 'life," he said.
To complete the sanction, he rubbed hot pepper on the wounds and threw the dog named Turéco to chase him. Until the end of time, he is bitten on the heels.
That giving the soul in pain of a son who killed the pope
The description presented by those who have seen and heard it; they say it's a disproportionate, very tall man walking over the top of the trees emitting a creepy whistle and carrying a sack full of bones that makes them sound like a rattle
Others say, that it persecutes women in a state of pregnancy; This whistler emits a long and sharp whistle that penetrates the ears and at the same time feels an intense cold that freezes people. There is a belief that when he whistles sharply he is a woman who is going to die; but if on the contrary the whistle is thick, it is a man or a friend who dies.
This legend has already taken her to the big screen
