A priceless 12th century bronze Buddha statue that was stolen from Bihar in 57 years ago has been written by British police to the Indian high commission in London. The statue was stolen from the Archaeological survey of Indian site museum in Nalanda, along with 30 others in 1961, was identified A trade fair in London in March this year by Lynda alberston of the association of research into crime against art and the Vijay Kumar of Indian Pride project- a volunteer-based, crowd- sourced project works tracktown and world heritage.
The case was taken by the Metropolitan police art and antiques unit which was Re Institute recently after its detective has been seconded to the investigation into grenfell Tower fire hair last year.
The Archaeological Survey of India helped to confirm icon identity.

Detective chief Inspector Sheela Stewart of the metropolitan police said they were delighted to be able to return a "piece of history" to where belonged and highlighted the work as an excellent example of what could be achieved through the close work of law enforcement, trade and scholars, and international collaboration, including that informants who had made them aware of its location.
In recent year many artefacts return to India from abroad in 2016 over 200 artefacts return by the US after Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit, New York said it would return structure of Durga Mahishasurarmidi from Baijnath temple in Himachal Pradesh and the head of daity from Nagarjunonda Museum in Andhra Pradesh.
