RE: Friedhof der Namenlosen in Wien // Cemetery of the Nameless, Vienna

Dear Anna,
A most moving tribute. It's the kind of essay that makes me want to be better, less self-centered. These humble graves, tended with respect and love. To me it signifies that none of us are truly strangers. We all share a common fate, however we may come to that end.
Thank you.
Wishing you and your family peace and comfort in the year ahead.
Warm regards and affection,
AG

Dear AG,

It's the kind of essay that makes me want to be better, less self-centered.

It's really touching to see people taking care of the graves of unknown ones.

After Joseph Fuchs returned from the Russian war captivity, he started on his own to make the devastated cemetery back to a dignified place. He must have been a very altruistic person. He also succeeded in identifying many of the victims. They got their name back and with it their personal history. And they were not forgotten.

I wish you and your beloved ones a peaceful and above all a healthy New Year.

With great affection,
Anna
