Jijiem Village, Keumala, Pidie

The pool is full of history. That said, the name Keumala comes from the red light coming out of this pool. There is no historical evidence to explain the beginning of the pond. However, the parents there said this pool was once just a well and enlarged into a pond by Japanese and Dutch invaders. Until now, this pond has been renovated several times. But the clarity of the water never goes away. Uniquely, although drought and residents' wells are almost dry, the water of this pond does not decrease. From the first, this pool becomes a bathing place for local residents or tourists.

Kulam Jijiem
Kolam ini penuh sejarah. Konon, nama Keumala berasal dari cahaya merah yang keluar dari kolam ini. Tidak ada bukti sejarah yang menerangkan awal adanya kolam. Namun, orang tua di sana mengatakan kolam ini dulunya hanya sebuah sumur dan diperbesar menjadi kolam oleh penjajah Jepang dan Belanda. Hingga sekarang, kolam ini sudah beberapa kali mengalami renovasi. Tapi kejernihan airnya tidak pernah hilang. Uniknya, meskipun kemarau dan sumur warga nyaris kering, air kolam ini sedikit pun tidak berkurang. Dari dulu, kolam ini menjadi tempat pemandian warga sekitar ataupun wisatawan.
