Modern Rural development in China--view on peasant uprising in Chinese dynasties

The 5000-year history in China has witnessed many peasant uprising from Qin dynasty to the establishment of People’s Republic of China (1949). The event of Chen sheng and Wu guang and Tai Ping Rebellion are typical failure.

Tai Ping Rebellion Undoubtedly, Tai Ping Rebellion, led by Hog Xiuquan, is not only an unprecedented peasant uprising in China, but also in the world. Its beginning was really a masterpiece. They even settled capital in Nan jing (Jiang su Province ), posing a grave threat to Qing’s authority. Admittedly, the failure of this rebellion, to some extent, goes to Qing’s blind union with Western Military. Yet, the deep reason lies in the fact that it was led by the peasantry.  1) the peasant class is more likely to be satisfied with material needs, poor in education, thus, they can not envision what the future holds for them. That’s why many newly-rich peasants (who received a sum of money when their land are exploited by the government) will soon be thrown into poverty again. What they do is spending all the compensation on gambling, adultery. They even do not have a thought over the importance of finance. They do not care about the risks arising in the future.  2) rigid/ fixed mind still remains an obstacle to their civilization. Land, in their opinion, is the tangible and touchable property, so they only focus on farming, which is a terrible but earning-a-little work in China. They even refuse to do other business. In order to better help them out, we should learn to educate them first. 

从历代王朝农民起义的失败看农村发展

 细数中国历史，秦朝起始，至中华人民共和国（1949年）成立，农民起义便纷纷不断。历史上较为著名的有秦朝末年陈胜吴广起义、洪秀全领导的太平天国运动。然而，两场起义皆以失败而告终。  

太平天国运动：  洪秀全领导的太平天国运动，毫不夸张的说，不仅是中国历史上一次规模巨大的农民起义，从整个世界范围来看，也是史无前例的。起义初期，太平天国势如破竹，甚至定都南京。当然，不可否认，西方和清政府双重武力干预在一定程度上加速了太平天国的灭亡，然而洪秀全所代表的农民阶级是导致其灭亡的主要原因。洪秀全在称王后，骄奢淫逸，宫中妃子胜过前朝任何一个朝代。这是因为1）农民阶级常满足于物质需求，文化程度相对匮乏，容易在得到物质满足后沉溺眼前的生活，没有对未来的预判能力。这也就解释了，为什么在当代中国，因拆迁而得到巨款的农民在数年后仍然再度陷入贫穷。他们将拆迁补偿款用于赌博、嫖娼，从未想过去投资理财，没有预判未来的能力。2）农民阶级思维僵化，认为种地是人类赖以存在的基础，这也解释了为什么历朝历代在安抚农民阶级时，常采取分地的原因。话至现代，信息技术高速发展的社会，赚钱变得相对容易，一大批思想开化的人开始寻求新的赚钱商机。仍然有一大批农民死守几亩地过日子。思维开导是促进农村发展的重中之重。
