So, These gem are believed to be originated in the Dutch town of Gouda, yes they make those Cheese, The Gouda Cheese!, wayy back in 1784, Legend has it that a resourceful local baker created the very first stroopwafel from the leftover of a breadcrumbs, that he subsequently sweetened with syrup. Wow... What a legend. These ...Wonderful biscuits then quickly caught on, like then there are 100 stroopwafel bakers in that town alone. And at wildfire reflex like, the stroopwafel then became a popular national snack sold at market stalls nationwide, throughout no kidding, although it wasn't until the 20th century that factories began to mass-produce them.
Well times goes by, These days stroopwafels tend to be made from premium ingredients, rather the original way, the scraps. The batter are prepared alone using flour, butter, brown sugar, yeast, milk and eggs then tossed into traditional waffle iron until it hit that spot on lovely golden brown, well at least they still has traditional value in the process, while it still warm, then it sliced into two pieces, slide in that good stuff which is a generous amount of rich caramel syrup, created from a mixture of brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon. Then sandwiched together.
