With the upcoming Hollywood movie coming out in the USA this month, it is important to first learn about the movie Edward Snowden originally created in January of 2013 in his effort to communicate with journalist and attorney Glenn Greenwald.
In December of 2012, Edward Snowden tried to reach out to Glenn Greenwald – sending him an unencrypted email. In this email Snowden urged Greenwald to setup PGP encryption so he could receive important information. Greenwald did not reply to this unusual and vague email; likely due to more immediate responsibilities/projects and the difficulty of setting up of PGP encryption.
A month later, Edward Snowden anonymously released his PGP encryption "How-to" video intended for any journalists he would communicate with. You can watch this exact same video below:

This is the first of planned multiple postings. I will be continuing with additional details and actual historically relevant web links for you to visit and explore yourself as we retrace the lead up to Snowden's famous documents release.
My goal is to encourage users to explore the necessity of encryption in modern communications and promote it's use to safeguard the privacy of personal communications - hopeful that it's preservation and distribution online will further freedom.
