World History Sites Disappeared by Terrorists
Jakarta, CNN - From Syria to Iraq, from Mali to Afghanistan, a terrorist group in the name of jihad has devastated historic cultural sites that are considered to have no Islamic value.

Currently the protection of the historic site is a hot topic in a meeting in Abu Dhabi, which will be attended by 40 state representatives in December.
Quoted from AFP on Wednesday (30/11), here are some historical sites that have been damaged and may no longer be enjoyed by future generations: 1. Syria Over 900 monuments and buildings have been destroyed by terrorist groups that destroy Syria since 2011, as quoted from data belonging to the Association of Syrian Historical Site Protection. The historic site set by UNESCO, Palmyra, has also been occupied by terrorist groups since May 2015. There, a number of important monuments were destroyed, with the intention of wiping out the history of Middle Eastern culture. Another site that is also destroyed is Dura-Europos located in eastern Syria. The site is known as 'Pompeii in the desert'.
ISIS is not the only group that destroyed the historic site in Syria. In 2013, the Ummayad Mosque that has been built since the 11th century was also destroyed by rebel groups in 2013.
Likewise with the site of The Crac des Chevaliers and the Maaret al-Numan Mosque Museum located in the city center.
"Two thirds of the historic sites in Syria have been destroyed by bombing and arson," said one spokesman for UNESCO
