Woman in history-LADY MARGARET BEAUFORT
I think all of you know Henry VIII and his six wifes. But his grandmother also stood out in history-Lady Margaret Beaufort(1441/1443-1509)
She was the mother of King Henry VII, the grandmother of Henry VIII. She was married four times and four times became a widow. Her son Henry VII became king of England in 22 August 1485 after War of Roses. His father (Margaret's second husband) was already death. So Margaret wasn't the queen. But she had titles: King's Mother and Countess of Richmond and Derby. Her grand-daughter Margaret Tudor (Henry VIII sister) became Queen of Scots when she married with James IV in 1503. Maybe you don't know, but Margaret Beaufort grand-daughter Margaret was grand-mother of Mary, Queen of Scots.
Margaret Beaufort lived longer than son-Henry VII died in April of 1509. She organized the son's funeral and the grandson's Henry VIII coronation. Margaret Beaufort died in 29 June 1509 when England was ruled by her grandson Henry VIII
