The ottoman empire and the Byzantine empire ... These two great empires have fought for centuries and have made so much work that I am now hoping that I will pass an inscription between these two empires.

Ottoman-Byzantine Relations The Ottoman State had chosen the west direction as the conquest direction. The territory of the Byzantine Empire was the first goal. The Ottoman Empire was established as an endgame to protect the borders of the Anatolian Seljuk State from the Byzantine Empire and to exacerbate the Byzantine Empire. The war with the Byzantine Empire became inevitable upon the advance of the Ottoman State Söğüt (Bilecik) - Domanic (Kütahya) region towards Byzantium. As a result of the Battle of Koyunhisar (1302), the first battle between the Byzantine rulers of Anatolia (Tekfurlar) and the Ottoman Empire, the Ottoman State opened its way to Bursa. Another struggle for the Ottoman State to move along the Sea of Marmara from here was caused by the Battle of Pelekanon (Maltepe) (1329), from which Iznik and Kocaeli Peninsula (Izmit and its surroundings) were taken from Byzantium. İznik and Bursa cities were very important centers for trade and industry. The conquest of these places enabled the revitalization of the economic life of the Ottoman State. The Battle of Sazlıdere (1363) between Byzantine and Ottoman Empire and the Byzantine gate to the lands of the Balkans were closed and Edirne was taken and after a while the new capital of the Ottoman State was made here. This development was influential in forming the Crusader alliances against the Ottoman Empire, which immediately came to the border of the Balkan States. Istanbul, the capital of Byzantium, was besieged many times until the conquest of Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror. In fact, a crusade against the Ottoman monarchy Yildirim Bayezid, who first surrounded Istanbul, was formed by the help of the Byzantine Empire in Europe. Byzantine also supported the princes who wanted to go to the Ottoman throne and rebelled against the Ottoman State for this purpose, and made alliances against the Ottoman Empire with some Anatolian principals. The Ottoman - Byzantine struggle ended with the conquest of Istanbul by Fatih and the Byzantine collapsed.

These two states eventually became winners of the Ottoman empire and lost the Byzantine centuries-old war.

1-Why did Byzantine lose?

2-the ottoman was very mucous

3-Byzantine was completely destroyed?

4-Are we still in the line of Byzantium?

The answers to these questions are still sought by the master historians and the traces of these two states are still moving.
