MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS THAT YOU DIDN'T KNOW EXISTED
The human being, from its origins as a species, has been able to identify, create and create sound rhythms. First with their own bodies and voices, then with things found in nature, then the first musical instruments were manufactured and nowadays there are all kinds of sophisticated musical instruments.
1- Nyckelharpa:
Nyckelharpa is a traditional Swedish instrument from more than 600 years ago. It is a rubbed string instrument, similar to the hurdy gurdy and the Spanish vihuela. The instrument almost died during the 20th century, but it was rescued and today more than 100 musicians in the UK know how to play it.
2- Santur:
Santur is a percussed string instrument of Persian origin that data from the year 1000, approximately. There are multiple variants, but in the version that means that the instrument has 72 strings that are struck with two small "hammers" of wood.
3- Kalimba:
Kalimba, or mbira, is an African musical instrument that consists of a small soundboard and a bridge with 11 reeds that can be made of metal or bamboo.
4- Qanun:
Qanun is a traditional pulsed string instrument from the Middle East. In its modern version it has 26 orders or groups of strings, with three strings each.
5- Zanfona (Hurdy-gurdy) The hurdy-gurdy, known as Hurdy Gurdy, is a string instrument of Galician origin.
