The Real Story of Arthur Ashe The Wise Faced Problems

in #history7 years ago

Arthur Ashe is a black American player who won three Grand Slam titles; US Open (1968), Australian Open (1970), and Wimbledon (1975). In 1979 he suffered a heart attack that required him to undergo bypass surgery. After two surgeries, instead of healing, he had to face the harsh reality of being infected with HIV through the blood transfusions he received.

A fan wrote to him,
"Why did God choose you for the sickness?"

Ashe replied:
"In this world there are 50 million children who want to play tennis, among them 5 million people who can learn to play tennis, 500 thousand people learn to become professional tennis players, 50 thousand come to the arena to compete, 5000 reach the grand slam tournament, 50 people made it to Wimbledon, four people in the semifinals, two men competing in the final. And when I lifted the Wimbledon trophy, I never asked God, "Why me?" So when I'm in pain, I should not ask God, "Why me?"

Friend,
Whether we realize it or not, we often feel that it is only worth receiving the good things in life; success, a smooth career, health. When we receive exactly the opposite; disease, difficulties, failures, we consider God unfair. So we feel entitled to sue God. But not so with Arthur Ashe, he is different from most people. That is a reflection of the life of faith; remain firm in hope, even when the burden of life is pressing heavily.

Friend,
When receiving something bad, remember the times when we received good ...

Friend,
"The winner's horse does not know why he should run and win the race.
What he knows, he must run because of being hit and sick .. !!

Friend,
Life is like a race. And God is his command or like his jock.

Friend,
If we get sick, beaten, accept the unkind, think: "God wants us to win !!"

Friend,
Appreciate God during God's favor in prayer and thanksgiving because God is good.
Let God's grace & mercy accompany each of our steps
