Mentroe Geulanceng, Influential Minister of the Sultan Iskandar Muda Period In Pidie History
This photo is the tomb of the existing Mentroe Geulanceng Gampong Krueng Seumideuen, Peukan Baro Subdistrict, Pidie District. Mentroe Geulanceng was a very influential Mentroe in the time of Sultan Iskandar Muda.
When about to attack Malacca, Sultan first held a large meeting with various leaders and traditional leaders who came from Pedir and Meureudu. The meeting was centered directly in Meureudu. At the meeting it was decided that the people of both countries strongly supported the Sultan's decision to fight.
At the same time the Sultan raised and took the oath of government officials in the land of Pedir and Meureudu to be given the honorary title of Mentroe (Minister). Mentroe Geulanceng is one of the Mentroe who was appointed directly by the Sultan.
Mentroe Geulanceng was given by Sultan Iskandar Muda to Mentroe Krueng Seumideuen. At that time the Sultan trusted him so much that he gave him the title of Geulanceng which has a Key Meaning. Very little information about him that we get.
Now the condition of the tomb is very unkempt and left without a guardrail. Though these sites are valuable assets of the Kingdom of Aceh Darussalam. We really hope that the local government can take care of the site by taking care of it and keeping it from going away.
