RE: ⚽ Euro 2024: Spain 2-1 England - Disappointment, Frustration, Anger and Fear

in Community 🔚5 months ago (edited)

It was the only EM-2024-game I‘d watched for full 90 minutes. Your ears must have been beeping a lot because I thought so often about you and did not dare to tell you „Oh, how sad for you“ afterwards on any channel. Well, England definitely has a good defense… 😊
And now I can’t find the hug-gorilla-gif… 🤷‍♀️

You did well to watch it - and I probably swore more than you think I did 😆

I can't complain too much - Spain were the best team in the tournament from start to finish and deserved to win it.

Word!

Yes, yes, I can well imagine how much you swore. That's why I didn't dare to send you a few words of comfort... ;-)

I'm generally nice... unless somebody is stupid enough to tell me "Spain 2-1", in which case, I get angry.

Well, England definitely has a good defense…

The problem is, that's the only thing they know and they haven't been up to the mark even in that. If you look at England's games closely you'll notice hundreds of absolutely useless passes back to Stones, it's like Rice > Stones > Rice > Stones and it goes on and on and on

Well, actually I don't care for football at all. But I care for friends who care... :-))
Besides, I have to keep up to date so that I can have a say in current affairs... ;-) If Germany hadn't been eliminated so early, I might have watched a few more games.
Well, there's no shame in losing to the European champions...

Seeing Germany exiting was really heartbreaking for me. I've grown up idealizing Toni Kroos. Infact even when I play football, I regularly try to copy and take inspiration from his playstyle. He's my role model but the Deutsch team hasn't been able to live up to the expectations since 2014. One theory says it's because of Ozil's departure from the team. Another Midfield Maestro

Hm. To be honest, I don't know Kroos' nor Özil's style of play...
If it comes to it, I still know Lothar Matthäus. Otherwise, for your information: I'm the generation of Paul Breitner, Kalle Rummenigge, Toni Müller... ;-)

I know you don't care football but Your favorite player?
