Ferrari took the early decision to put a new engine into Leclerc's car which pretty much removed any prospects of challenging for the race win before the weekend had even begun. He put in a decent if unspectacular drive though, struggling to overtake on his hard tyres but still finishing a respectable 5th place.

Lewis Hamilton had also written off his own chances of achieving anything saying on Friday that this was the worst car he'd ever driven at Canada. Something went right for him though, managing to get himself up into 3rd place and onto the podium.

Alonso would have been hoping for a podium finish too having qualified in 2nd but it wasn't his race, finishing 9th with a suspected engine problem and more notably, behind his team mate Esteban Ocon.

For Red Bull, it was a mixed bag. Sergio Perez had to retire early due to a Gearbox issue which I found particularly painful having opted to make him my Turbo Driver. Max Verstappen however never looked in danger and pretty much led the race from start to finish. Having had to fight for his first world championship, you wouldn't bet against him winning his 2nd this year.

With Mercedes doing so well (3rd and 4th) and Sergio Perez having a poor weekend, the league rankings have a very different look about them this week. @eve73 taking her 1st Raceweek victory with a score of 174 with the following lineup:

The league's looking relatively settled now with @titopx continuing to lead the way at the top, ahead of @gabikay and @the-gorilla.

@eve73 continues her rise up the rankings and is now in a close battle with @frafiomatale with both hoping to catch up with @the-gorilla and a podium position.
