The Diary | 500+km By Bus

Hi Steemians....✍✍✍
Hope you all are well being ready to spend one more weekend.

I had to pass a really tough couple of days as I had to visit the Duqm site by Bus where I normally travel by company car or flight. As informed by the company, the company car and driver were not available and there was no alternative option than to visit by Bus. The journey was not planned by me but I have no choice left with me than going through this.

It was Tuesday 1st June 2021, and I woke up a little bit late as I chose to go by second bus which starts from Muscat at 10.00am. I packed my stuff which is sufficient to manage upcoming days and had breakfast and got ready to start from Home.

Transportation was provided by the company to reach the bus station located in Rusayl roundabout and the bus started from there on sharp time as scheduled.

It was not a comfortable journey and conditions of buses were also not pretty good compared to other routes. The bus had been stopped at two places for refreshness and I could have my lunch at the second stop.

It took seven and half hours to reach Duqm stop where it takes hardly five hours by our company car and it was not comfortable at all. The site driver came to pick me up and I was escorted by him to company accommodation located nearby.

The next day, I visited the site and started doing things which I came here to do. In fact, this is handing over my responsibilities, duties as I will leave the current company.

In-fact, handing over has been done properly when I was in head office but I was told to go to the site and get an acknowledgement from the PM too by the HR dept.

I was able to manage my handing over as I had planned within two days.
As I had some free time, I have visited the site too and site progress is admirable and the structure of the main building is almost completed.

I have returned to Muscat by today and hope that the rest of things will be done as I scheduled.
Thank you for reading my blog and stay safe......
