Beta Launch of Excel For All – Excel Community on the steem blockchain
I am excited to announce the Beta Launch of Excel For All. An Excel community based on the steem blockchain where you can ask questions, share knowledge and network with other Excel and Spreadsheet users.
Do we really need another Excel community? After all, there are already plenty of Excel communities on Facebook, Linkedin & Reddit. So why launch another one?
Well, there are never too many places to talk about Excel, and I have become the steem community Excel go-to person and often help other steem users over discord and email. So it would be nice to bring that onto the block. But besides that……
The steem blockchain offers many benefits that can not be found on Facebook, Linkedin, Reddit or other Web2 centralized options. The steem blockchain is a decentralized platform, with the unique ability to store content and reward users with tokens. Many people spend hours helping in Excel communities and they do it for the love of Excel. The only reward is to become an influencer, while the platform, Reddit, Facebook, Linkedin are making money from your time and your effort. Maybe even tracking your habits and selling your data.
We seen it with Facebook in the past. Do you remember as a community owner you could actually contact your community members? Rules then changes and community owners lost a lot of power, including any ownerships of contact lists made via the platform. At least Google+ allowed community owners to download a contacts list before pulling the plug on communities many had spent years building.
The steem blockchain offers an alternative to this. Content is not driven by ML and AI. Instead, users decided what is important to them. Ownership and control will remain in the hands of the community owners.
And so I chose the steem blockchain to offer an alternative to the existing community model and today I am delighted to announce the beta launch of Excel for All. The first Excel community on web3.
As it is beta, to fully partake in the community you will need to have a steem account. However, there will also be opportunities to engage with certain community posts that will be published directly on theexcelclub.com via the guest accounts.
So if you have an Excel question, burning problems with your spreadsheet, do visit https://beta.steemit.com/trending/hive-102332 and get some help.
This community will be sponsored by way of curation from @theexcelclub

Dear @paulag
Excellent initiative in this way this information you share can be of great help to many.
When I studied at the university many years ago a specific subject of a subject called informatics was only from Excel, there I learned a lot about Excel..
Of course, I still think that I still have a lot to learn from that subject.
Greeting
@lanzjoseg

Dear @paulag
Would you mind if I take few minutes of your time?
Together with few core members of project.hope team - we'te trying to promote our recent publication: an article explaining economy behind our non-profit community project build on STEEM blockchain.
Perhaps I could ask you to spare few minutes and check it out and share your feedback with me.
I would absolutely appreciate it a lot. I read all comments and I drop solid upvote on each valuable one.

I do not do a lot with spreadsheets and such as of yet, I do have a few I try to maintain for tracking my progress and such, so it is nice to have a group that when I have a specific Spreadsheet question I have a place to look for the answers. Joined.
thank you for joining @bashadow, we will be there when you have a question you need help with :-)

P.S.S.
Nevwrmind, I'm not sure what happened ut it seems I have to login first before subscribing.
I was able to join after going to explore communities and clicking the subscribe button on the communities list.
Glad to have you.....and good to hear from you :-)
Awesome! I subscribed to the community channel! Still trying to get my head around how it all works with the new and upcoming changes on SMT and communities.
I mainly use SteemPeak so hope they can integrate it and allow people to follow the communities they have joined!
This will be a valuable community for those looking to develop their spreadsheet skills!
Oh as far as I am aware steempeak will be showing communities. Thank you for joining us. I am sure you will find use for us at some stage :-)
That's awesome then! I'm still a little behind with SteemPeak, definitely not using it to its fullest but already starting to enjoy the new feed and haven't seen trending for a long time, which is also pretty cool!
