The theme of the 2024 Heroes' Day Commemoration is; "Imulate Your Heroes, Love Your Country". This theme has a deep meaning.
"Imulate Your Heroes", means that all thoughts and actions must always be inspired by the spirit of heroism.
As for "Love Your Country" it means that whatever form of devotion we must make a meaningful contribution to the progress of the Indonesian nation.
Especially in this unpredictable global situation, loving the country is also by strengthening the bonds of social solidarity, strengthening unity and social solidarity, reviving the social values of brotherhood among fellow children of the nation.
The process of struggle to build a nation always takes different forms from year to year, this is related to changes in the strategic environment of the Indonesian nation.
In each era, the challenges, opportunities, strengths and limitations will be different.
When in the past the implementation of heroism was with the spirit of breaking through, breaking through and destroying the colonialist colonialist structures, now its implementation is to destroy the culture and structure of poverty and ignorance which are the roots of social problems in Indonesia.
Therefore, the spirit of heroism must spread to the spirit of building, creating community prosperity, realizing lifelong social protection, realizing inclusive social welfare for people everywhere.
The progress of a nation is not only measured by its ability to pursue economic growth, but the progress of a nation is also measured by its ability to manage social problems.
Regarding the development of the times, do heroes only belong to the past? Is it possible for heroes to emerge today considering that the corridor of physical struggle to establish a country has been completed with the formation of the Republic of Indonesia? Of course, this question is very narrow if it is associated with the fact that the field of struggle is only at the time of the formation of the State.
The challenge going forward is that we agree that the Republic of Indonesia is for the future, our shared home until the end of our lives, of course this opens up an opportunity for the entire Indonesian nation to do their best in the corridor of making the Republic of Indonesia a dignified nation in global relations," he said.
Everyone has the opportunity to fight to defend the Republic of Indonesia and build the progress of the Republic of Indonesia.
"We hope that the commemoration of Heroes' Day from year to year is not just a birthday repeating what we routinely do, we hope that at every moment of the Commemoration of Heroes' Day a new spirit will emerge, the figure of an Indonesian citizen will emerge who has succeeded in issuing new innovations to implement heroic values according to the current challenges," he said.
In the end, never tire of doing your best to emulate and inherit heroic values.
"Let us implement the traits of heroism and social solidarity in society starting from ourselves, starting from the smallest things that can be done around us for the benefit of society," he said.
Hopefully everyone can emulate and instill the values of heroism and pass them on to future generations.
The ceremony was concluded with the handover of gifts by the Acting Regent of Bireuen to two veterans, AR Juli and A Bakar Amin.
