THE SUMMER IS NEVER OVER!

GOOD DAY EVERYONE, IT'S NICE TO BE BACK <3

That's what I've always assumed because I haven't had a particularly enjoyable summer this year. I didn't get to spend a lot of time at the beach. Yes, it's a sad life.

Anyway, I wanted to visit Olango Island with my colleague in time for their fiesta celebration. I've always wanted to visit and explore the island, excluding the plates of seafood I get to eat while I'm there.

Environmental San Vicente Marine Sanctuary

San Vicente Marine Sanctuary is a fish and marine life protected area as well as an eco-tourism destination.

This marine sanctuary provides excellent opportunities to interact with nature, especially marine life, up close and personal – for example, face-to-face with fish and in harmony with mangroves and the sea.

The city of Lapu-Lapu, Cebu, is supporting and overseeing this environmental initiative.

Visitors and visitors of all ages, nationalities, educational backgrounds, and other backgrounds come here to stay for an hour, a camp for a night or two, One of its most notable features is a 500-meter-long bamboo bridge that cuts through the mangroves and ends at a temporary above-the-water observation structure from which visitors can view the ocean, nearby islands, and the visible cities of Cebu and Lapu-Lapu. and participate in other activities allowed by the management.

Environmental Activities

San Vicente Marine Sanctuary was developed as a project sponsored by the local government in response to the need to protect the livelihood and marine resources that serve as the primary source of income for the locals.

In other words, the mission of this marine sanctuary is to preserve and encourage marine diversity in the region in order to prevent over-harvesting of resources such as fish, mangroves, and seashells.

GOOD DAY!

My colleague and I wanted to visit the popular "boardwalk."

San Vicente Boardwalk Marine Sanctuary is located in Sta. Rosa, Lapu-Lapu City's Barangay San Vicente. They have a variety of activities for their visitors, including sightseeing, diving, and snorkeling to see the island's diverse marine life.

They have a notice for us to read before we reach the resort.

After paying for your desired operation, you can receive a brief orientation on how the sanctuary operates and the dos and don'ts for helping to protect the sanctuary.

Since the wooden bridge is about 500 meters long, I recommend bringing water and snacks. At the entrance, there is a store where you can purchase the items you want.

As we walked along the wooden bridge, we took a lot of photos. On our way to their viewing room, we also saw a school of fish. It was a fantastic visit.

Always be a responsible tourist, as I always remind my readers.

HOW TO GE THERE!

  • From Mactan Island, you must take a pump boat to Olango Island. Angasil Port in Mactan will be your starting point.
  • You'll need to take a jeepney or a multicab with a Soong route from there.
  • You must alight at Mactan Newtown. To get to Angasil Port, take a tricycle.
  • To get to San Vicente Marine Sanctuary, take a tricycle.

Thank you @steemsea for the opportunity and for allowing me to post my entry here, as well as mam @cryptokannon and @steemingcuration for their constant encouragement. Hope you will support me again.
