For this entry, I will be bringing you to my workplace, as well as to introduce HI - PRECISION DIAGNOSTICS to everyone.

Basically, My routine everyday is work-home-work. My shift will start at 5:45am and will end up at 4:21pm, 5 times a week. Recently, they implemented the new schedule due to pandemic and unfortunately, we are under staff. In order for us to give extra rest, they came up with a double rest day but longer working hours.

HI-PRECISION DIAGNOSTICS (HPD)

HPD is a pioneer and leading medical laboratory in the Philippines. HPD offers a quality healthcare at an affordable price.

25 years ago, the first HPD branch was established in Manila. Over the years, HPD has grown and expanded its branch to serve patients at thier convenience.

Mr. Euclid Po, Managing Director, at the same time the owner of HPD-Cebu branches. The first Cebu branch was established 20 years ago at Fuente Osmeña. They started with just 20 employees at that time. As the years passed by, the management expanded branches and dominated the medical laboratory industry.

SERVICES OFFERED

Most of our patients are afraid to go to the hospitals to have their laboratory test due to Covid19. They prefer to go to HPD because it is not congested than the hospitals. Hpd also offers quality service at affordable price because the price of the laboratory tests are lower than the hospitals. This institution is also a TUV certified.

In relation to COVID19, below are the tests that are available in HPD- CEBU branches.

TABUNOK BRANCH

Tabunok branch is the first branch in the southern part of cebu which is located Tabunok Talisay City. This is the branch where I am working to. Operation starts at 6:00am until 4pm temporarily.

We also have UV lights to disinfect the whole branch at the end of our shift.

They also provided us UV cabinet for our PPE's for disinfection.

Pre pandemic, we usually had 400-600 patients per day but as of today, the census is decreasing due to the fear of our fellow Pinoys with the virus which is very understandable.

Releasing, Receiving, Cashier and Customer Service Area (OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT)

This is my department. In this area we are catering all the patients that gets inside the facility to have thier procedures done, patient's inquiry with regards to the availability of the test and its cost, the payment area for them to proceed with their tests, approval of HMO (Health Maintenance Organization which means a health insurance plan) and as well as the releasing of our patients results. This department is the busiest are in the facility because all of the transactions are happening in one setting.

PHLEBO DEPARTMENT

Blood extractions and receiving of different specimens are done in this area. "One shot deal" is the goal of our medical technologist. They make sure that they can get blood with just one push of the needle to lessen the agony of our patients.

IMAGING DEPARTMENT

This department cater patients that has xray, ultrasound, ecg, 2D echo and vascular procedures.

DRUG TEST DEPARTMENT

This is where we conduct our drug test. We collect urine samples from patients. we offer 2 panel DT, Meth and Cannaboid as well as other variant of drugs. They conduct the procedure in a strictly manner. Staff will be waiting at the door of the CR where the patients collect thier urine. The door should leave open so that the staff can see that there is no illegal motions present. This rule is mandated by the DOH.

LABORATORY DEPARTMENT

This were some of the specimens are being processed. Since our laboratory here in the branch is quite small. We are only processing for CBC, Routine Urinalysis, Routine Fecalysis, Occult Blood and Pregnancy Test. Other tests are sent to our main branch for processing.

I know it's hard to go to the hospitals and to have the lab tests of your love ones or for yourself, just please be aware that there are other facilities that are offering same quality healthcare at an affordable price, just like HPD. Don't settle for less, don't be afraid to get tested because as what as the old saying goes, "Prevention is better than cure."
