Assalam O Alaikum.
Hello my steemit friends i hoped you are all doing well today i want to share my experience of creating a fun and educational game for children. I participated in a contest that encouraged us to make an educational game and play it with a child. The game i designed is called the Colour Recognition Activity this game is simple yet exciting and its main goals is to help childrens recognize and learn colors. I had a wonderful time making and playing this game and i am excited to share the details with you.
Explain the creative process step by step, including illustrations. Don't forget to share the materials used and the final result?
To make the Colour Recognition Activity I gathered a few simple materials that are easy to find. I used:
Colored cardboard sheets (red blue green yellow and orange).
Scissors.
A marker.
A large white poster sheet.
Glue.
First i cut out hand-shaped pieces from the colored cardboard sheets. These colorful hand shapes were the main part of the game. I made sure to make them large enough for a child to touch and interact with easily. After that i glued the colorful hand shapes onto the white poster sheet spacing them evenly. Next i wrote the name of each color under the hand shapes using the marker so the child could learn the spelling of the colors as well . The final result was a bright and attractive poster with colorful hand shapes ready to be used for the game.
Describe the purpose of the educational game you created. What do you want to teach with the game?
The purpose of the educational game is to help children learn color recognition and matching through a fun hands on activity. In this game the child places their hand on a colored handprint that matches the same color displayed on the table. This activity aims to enhance their ability to identify and differentiate colors while improving focus and hand eye coordination. By engaging in this interactive game children can develop their cognitive skills and enjoy learning in an exciting way.
In your own words, explain how to play?
Playing the game is very simple. I placed the poster with the colorful hand shapes in front of the child. Then i called out a color for example "Touch yellow!" The child had to find the red hand shape and place their hand on it. We repeated this for all the colors. To make it more fun I added a timer asking the child to match the colors as quickly as possible.
To add an extra challenge I later asked the child to spell out the names of the colors as they touched them. This helped them learn how to read and remember the spellings of colors.
Did the child enjoy the game? Was he bored or entertained? Do you think this game contributed to the child's learning? Tell us about your experience and that of the child playing the educational game?
I played this game with my young cousins who is
5 years old. They was very excited when she saw the colorful poster and immediately wanted to touch the hand shapes. When we started the game she giggled as she searched for the right color. At first she got confused between similar shades but with a little guidance she quickly improved. The timer made the game even more exciting for her. She enjoyed trying to beat her own time and became more confident with each round. When i asked her to spell the names of the colors she hesitated at first but after a few tries she started getting them right. Her favorite part was shouting out "I did it!" every time she got the answer correct.
Don’t forget to upload photos or videos of the child playing the educational game ?
That's a great idea! Sharing a picture of the child engaging with the educational game will make your post more interactive and appealing. Heres a suggestion for a caption you can use with the photo learning is fun Heres enjoying the color recognition game. Its amazing to see how quickly they pick up new things through play.Let me know if you want help writing a full post about it.
