Natural Vs. Artificial

in Dream Steem9 days ago

10:59 pm. Can’t sleep again. I’ve been thinking about the idea of artificial things to fix natural occurrences. Or in some cases what causes the occurrence isn’t natural, does that justify using unnatural means to fix it? What about modern medicine, it is unnatural but does good, it fixes natural issues.

Nowadays people tend to always want a ‘Pill’ to fix their issues. Or something they can buy that would make it go away. Why don’t we ever consider that it might be something we do on a daily basis that causes this? Why must something need to be added, why isn’t it something that needs to be taken away. Or at the least controlled. Withheld temporarily. Done at only the appropriate moment. That takes a certain amount of self reflection and discipline. It’s hard to come to the realization that you are what is wrong, and not the world being unfair (to be fair it sometimes is) or you having bad luck.

Up until recently I don’t think humanity has gone through as much change as we have in the last 200 years. There’s this fact (I can’t be asked to actually check if it’s true) that the first spaceship that went to the moon had less processing power than today’s average calculator. I feel like when people hear that they don’t really comprehend how impressive and dangerous that feat was. Long story short, things are moving quickly. In my many many many years on earth I’ve learnt that most things have a give and take relationship. For all these achievements what are the repercussions?

I’m going to try to keep this series vague with few examples of actual happenings. That would require me to do research, I’m not doing research. These are simply the ramblings of an Insomniac (was going to use this as the series’ title but somebody already has a podcast with this name, everybody has a podcast nowadays, new topic?).

Two, what are we going to do to fix the repercussions? Modern technology? Can you use fire to fight fire? Do modern problems really require modern solutions? Were we (each of us as individuals I mean) ever meant to fix the world? Up until recently the world didn’t even know there was a world. Just your community. Why don’t people focus first on the issues in their community before attempting to change a/the generation/world. I’m going off on a bit of a tangent here.

Welcome to Dream Steem!

I think that our current solutions to all kinds of problems are best suited to generate new problems... Maybe it's better to get to the bottom of things again instead of just tinkering on the surface...?

Thank you, it's good to be here. Completely agree, sadly it's easier said than done.

Technological advancements enhance human lifestyles, yet they also have the potential to cause harm to the natural environment and human well-being.

While technology is important in our lives, it is not necessary, just a need.

We embrace technological revolutions, it is essential to carefully consider their adverse effects as well.

Ps: add pics to ehnace your post:).

Well said. Thanks for the tip.
