The Gorilla

Late at night and too dark to see.
It started grunting behind me.
I jumped in fear and turned around.
I'm sure a gorilla made that sound.
I yelled out loud, "Just go away!".
Obviously on it, I had no sway.
It came in close. I start to brace.
But with it's tongue, it licked my face!
"You dirty beast!", I had to yell.
My nostrils sniffed it's rancid smell.
One step back, is what I took,
just to prepare my right hook.
I stepped ahead just one more time.
It must have known it's chin was mine.
It chose this moment to drop it's jaw.
The timing perfect! I was in awe!
It bit my fist! I thought it lost!
I want it back at all cost!
I pulled and tugged, and oh..the pain!
My blood escaping. It left my brain!
I felt the fear rise up in me.
What have I done?! How can this be?!
I was out, but I've returned.
From this event I have learned.
If behind, a gorilla you find,
run like you're the last of your kind!
Oi, you're back ;-))) Too late for this nice Keyword, but really good!
Thank you! Yea, the key word, I know. That's why I didn't put "#gorilla" as a key word. :)
I was never really gone. I just can't seem to stay actively writing all the time. I guess it has to do with a limited attention span. ;)
