THE ROOMMATE

Angela was studying medicine at University and shared an apartment with a friend. Unfortunately, her friend had to leave the apartment in the middle of the year, so Angela found herself paying the rent alone. To try to keep costs down he placed an advert on the internet.

In a few days he received dozens of requests, but one in particular came from a young researcher. She said her name was Sandra Jonhson, she provided her LinkedIn profile and her email. Angela liked what she saw on Sandra's CV and gave her a ring to find out that she was a friendly and sweet lady. So he agreed to let her have the room.

Sandra and Angela hit it off right away and living together was a breeze for the first few weeks. Angela was happy to show Sandra around the city.

When the Christmas period arrived Angela left to visit her parents, she said goodbye to Sandra who was leaving the next day for a holiday.

Then, Angela got a call from the cops a few days before Christmas. They told her that some thiefs had broken into the house. Angela felt scared, but also glad that she and Sandra were out when it happened.

Angela went back to the flat. She was shocked to see that all the electronics and even her bike were gone. She checked Sandra's room and found it completely empty, not even a hanger in the closet. What had happened?

She went to the police and learned the awful truth: Sandra Johnson was not her roommate, she was a dead woman whose identity had been stolen. The woman to whom he had rented the room was a professional thief who had carried out several robberies in different cities, posing as Sandra Johnson thanks to her resemblance to the woman, the police still had not managed to understand who she really was.

Angela returned home heartbroken, she had rented the room to an impostor.
