I felt If I was Back in Ice Age

My receptionist told me a lady was insistent on talking to you.

I looked at my receptionist for a moment and agreed to speak with this patient first, so I answered her phone.Perhaps she was in real trouble, so she insisted on talking to me.

I heard a sweet voice from the other end: "Sir, since last 15 days..." she was speaking, and I was listening. Her voice was like a melodious sound, as if a keyboard were playing on a soft note.

I got lost in the magic of her voice. I don't know what kind of attraction was in her voice that kept me spellbound. When she stopped speaking, I remembered that I am a doctor.

I asked her age, and her answer baffled me: ""46 Years Old, Doctor."

I could not believe that this voice belongs to a woman over 45. That voice sounded like that of a 20- to 22-year-old girl. Her voice was so sweet, I could not believe she was 46. I asked her to go for a checkup so I could diagnose her illness and prescribe medicines for her.

Meanwhile, I prescribed her a few medicines on phone for two days until her reports arrived.

These two days seemed like centuries to me, and there was barely a moment that I did not remember her voice. In fact, I felt like I had gone back to the Ice Age, when I had no one else in my life but her.

Her soft voice kept following me, even when I was sleeping. I was losing all interest in life, but her voice was the only solace. I made many pictures of her in my imagination. I started talking about those pictures. I was laughing at myself, as I had never met or seen her before. Just a phone call... and I was so lost I could not understand what was happening to me. I don't know in which spiritual world I was lost.

I wanted to meet her. I wanted to hear her sweet voice again. But I had received no message or call from her side, even after three days. I was expecting her to be here with her reports, then I texted her. 'How is your health now?'

'Not well; the medicine you gave had no effect," she replied.

'You ate well?' I asked!

'Yes, just as you said.'

I became silent after listening to her. My hopes started collapsing. I thought she would not come now. The dream of meeting her was over.

After a while, her message flashed on my phone. ‘Can I have an appointment for today?’
I felt as if my wish had been fulfilled.

She came exactly at 5:00 pm to my clinic with her reports, and I could hear her sweet voice saying, "Good evening; I am here."

I felt like seven notes of music started playing in my heart, and suddenly I saw a smile on her lips. The beats of my heart started becoming uncontrollable, and she didn't look 46 years old. Her beauty was hitting me right where it was most effective: with step-cut hair, brown eyes, pink lips, and a simple pair of leggings with a tee.

I kept staring at him. She was more beautiful than I had imagined her to be in my dreams. I couldn't take my eyes off her face when that sweet voice hit my ears: "Can I sit here, doctor?"

He extended his report to me. I started looking at the reports. I was shocked when I saw her report. I couldn't look at her face, but she probably noticed my worried face.

She asked me if everything was normal, but I stopped her with a gesture of my hand.

I wanted to tell her, but the words got stuck in my mouth. I could not say anything to her, but I prescribed her medicines for the next 15 days.

"Okay doctor, is my report normal?" She asked with a shade of doubt in her voice.

"Yes..." I stuttered.

"Doctor, I know that my report is not normal. The infection in my lungs is in its last stage. Can you say for sure that my treatment is possible?

"There is a cure for every disease except death in this world. Just keep your calm. Take your medicines on time. Keep getting checkups done regularly. Everything will be all right." I spoke in a professional tone.

She slowly got up and looked into my eyes, smiled lightly, and left. When her eyes met mine, it seemed as if she was saying, "Goodbye, doctor!"

My love story had not even started when it ended. In fact, some stories end even before they commence. I could not understand why, to date, if we meet to depart, we meet in the first place.

After a few days, she said goodbye to the world. Even today, her voice echoes in my ears. She should have lived for me. She didn't have to go like this... But when does the last stage of cancer give you a chance to stay? I thought I had gone back to the ice age.

👍🎉

Once I started reading your story, I couldn't stop until I knew what would happen with that beautiful voice of the patient and the doctor. I really liked your story of an impossible love that was never born.
