"Moira - Individual's Destiny"
Drawn in toned paper and edited for highlights

In the quest of understanding the existence of Desire
A mortal once asked Fate, with great persistence
As to why Fate homed Desire in the hearts of the living
The mortal even wondered -
How many times must they plead Fate for Something
to quench their parched existence?
How many times should they hope in vain
for Fate to crumble and give them what they asked for?
How many more times will the hearts ache and yearn
while Fate stands idly by?
Always siding with Unfairness, rarely with the mortals' cry.

However, Justice and Life spoke in Fate's stead
Life elucidates that at times
Fate can be kind and generous
She will bring forth Something
And more often than not
that "Something" might take shape in the form of Someone
Who shall open the mind to see
That biography is more than just a name
And life is more than just flesh and bones
To look at life through a rose-colored spectacle -
To walk on the aisle of a creed with stained-glass windows
only to exchange vows, where the witnesses are the crowd
Defying the gravity just to continuously fall
To be at ease in the face of silence
To be contented with just coexistence
Making Forever blushed and ashamed of its role.

On the other hand, Justice warns
Fate might bestow the mortals what they deserved
She might also bring you Something
That might take shape in the form of Someone
Who might drive you to hold your pen
only to write an epitaph dedicated to your own heart yet again
To feel drown in wordless conversation
after tears have been shed and soul that was torn
Grasping for verses of failed metaphors
Even Forever spites the vows that were made before the moon.

But then Fate denies Unfairness and argues -
A lot of chances were given to those livings
Yet those were taken for granted
Never thinking that the last time might be the last
They have drawn smugness cunningly
Never realizing that Forever only resides in time, never in them
Merely wandering the surface of the Earth -
Being finite, with days that are numbered.

Hence, Fate entrusted the mortals to Experience
And each of the passing days
where mortals do not speak with Experience
Nor do they learn from it
They will constantly know Regret -
who purposely shows them everything that was lost and gone.

About the drawing: Whether we are the creators of our own destiny or not is something that I find puzzling. I'd be glad to hear your opinions about this subject. I might consider this as a sequel to my previous work - "Hurt and Phantasm".

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Have a great day!😊

Hello, @realynacantoart. I would say destiny is the product of one's choices. And depending on whether one believes or not one might say it also has an element of "randomness", unless one connects the things that happen and realize that actually there's purpose in them. Anyways, I'd like to think that my destiny is the product of my actions in conjunction with the favor of God.

Kind regards,
Anton.

It's nice to hear your thoughts about this. I've also heard the two sides of the coin; some may believe everything is predestined. However, this is not to disregard the fact that there's also this thing we call "free will". 😊 The perspectives of people really vary. Thanks for stopping by. 😊

I like it! But that's not all - I also take the liberty of considering it a contribution to the current "Keyword of the Week" contest ;-)) Read it? The current keyword is WORDLESS...

Oh, you're right. I will! Thanks for this. 😊I appreciate it.
