Hello. First of all, I would like to thank @slon21veka for giving us the opportunity to see beautiful images from all over the world with such a beautiful contest topic.

The graffiti I will use for the competition is from Istanbul, Turkey. From Gungoren District. I see it every day because it is on the road I walk on the way to the school where I work.

This graffiti consists of one image and one word. Let's first look at what the picture means.

In the picture there is a teacup full of tea. In Turkey, we love to drink tea. There is a belief here that you will not be harmed by the person who offers you tea. For us, tea is a beverage that can be consumed at any time of the day and under all conditions. It is drunk in the morning for breakfast, at work, during dinner, before going to bed at night, and even at sahur when you get up at night for Ramadan fasting these days. I also love to drink tea.

After explaining what tea means to the people of my country, it's time to talk about what the word in graffiti means. The word in graffiti is 'We are brewing' This word comes from the word dem. The word Dem has several meanings in our language according to the Turkish Language Association:

• Desired state of the prepared tea in terms of color and odor.
• Time, era.
• Cooked food to be edible.
• Inhale, exhale.
• Drink.
• Smell.

These meanings are actually the dictionary meanings of the word dem. In daily life, we only use what is related to tea. Or let me put it this way, we use the meaning related to tea more often in daily life.

There was construction debris in front of the wall where I took the picture. I tried not to pull as much as I could, but that's it. Some writings were added later on the graffiti. If we don't count them as graffiti content, I love this graffiti.

Merhabalar. Öncelikle böyle güzel bir yarışma konusu ile bizlere dünyanın her yerinden güzel görseller görme imkanı verdiği için @slon21veka teşekkür ederim.

Benim yarışma için kullanacağım grafiti İstanbul, Türkiye'den. Güngören İlçesinden. Çalıştığım okula giderken yürüdüğüm yol üzerinde olduğu için her gün görüyorum.

Bu grafiti bir adet görsel ve bir adet kelimeden oluşuyor. Önce resmin ne manaya geldiğine bakalım.

Resimde çay dolu bir çay bardağı var. Türkiye'de bizler çay içmeyi çok severiz. Sana çay ikram eden insandan kötülük görmezsin diye bir inanış var buralarda. Çay bizler için günün her saatinde ve her şartta tüketilecek bir içecektir. Sabah kahvaltıda, iş yerinde, akşam yemeği sırasında, gece yatmadan önce, hatta şu günlerde ramazan orucu için gece kalkınca sahurda bile içilir. Ben de çayı çok severek içerim.

Ülkem insanı için çayın ne manaya geldiğini anlattıktan sonra sıra geldi grafitideki kelimenin ne demek olduğuna. Grafitide bulunan kelime 'DEMLENİYORUZ' Bu kelime dem kelimesinden gelir. Dem kelimesinin Türk Dil Kurumuna göre bir kaç anlamı var bizim dilimizde:

• Hazırlanan çayın renk ve koku bakımından istenilen durumu.
• Zaman, çağ.
• Pişirilen yemeklerin yenecek kıvamda olması.
• Soluk, nefes.
• İçki.
• Koku.

Bu anlamlar dem kelimesinin sözlük anlamları aslında. Günlük hayatta ise bizler sadece çay ile ilgili olanı kullanıyoruz. Ya da şöyle söyleyeyim, günlük hayatta çay ile ilgili olan anlamı daha sık kullanıyoruz.

Fotoğraf çektiğim duvar önünde inşaat molozları vardı. Elimden geldiğince çekmemeye çalıştım ama bu kadar oldu. Grafiti üzerine de sonradan bazı yazılar eklenmiş. Onları grafiti içeriğinden saymazsak, ben bu grafitiyi seviyorum.
