Introduction

Greetings great people of Steemit Community! It exciting to participate in this Crypto academy contest, where we were asked to write about our favorite blockchain, I want to tell this great platform what my favorite blockchain is.

Tell us about your favorite Blockchain network, its history, and why it's your favorite.

All through my life growing up I never knew anything about blockchain, as a young man the only thing I know I kept hearing from people is Bitcoins and how the price is rising and falling I didn't know that Bitcoin is even a blockchain. It was early this year that I was introduced to the blockchain system by my very good friend @josepha who brought me into the world of Steem.

I have not interacted with any other blockchain except from this few which are Steem, Hive and Blurt and among these three Steem remains my favorite blockchain till today.

I got to familiarize myself with steem blockchain network because they are the one powering up this great platform where people get to create wonderful content and earn Steem reward for the wonderful content they created. The Steem blockchain network is the network powering the Steemit platform, it rewards content creator with Steem Dollars (SBD), Tron (TRX) and Steem power (SP). With the Steem dollars the Steemit user can acquire steem which is a Crypto currency and which be traded for other Crypto currency and the Steem power gives the Steem user influence in the Steem platform.

Steem blockchain network is a social media blockchain network that grows communities like Steemit, Dtube and other blockchain that are built on the blockchain. It helps them to generate revenue stream which is rewarded to users for creating original content. For instance Steemit platform rewards users for creating original content while Dtube rewards users for creating good video.

History about Steem Blockchain Network

Steemit platform is a blockchain based social media that was founded by two Noble men namely Ned Scott and Dan Larimar in the year 2016. It is a blockchain that uses the Steem coin as a crypto currency to reward users in the Steemit platform.

Ned Scott was the one that conceived the idea of many Steemit platform a reality before he met with Dan Larimar who was a very well known blockchain developer and he was the CEO of BitShares. Ned Scott worked for three years as a business operator with an American food importation company called Global Group before meeting Dan Larimar.

After the birthing of this great platform called Steemit Dan Larimar worked as the CTO from the period of the platform's inception till 2017 when he left the platform to work on his next project called EOS. This how these great platform began his journey till it grew to this point it is today.

Steemit is just like every other Social media like Facebook and so on, but is very different from them in the sense that it is a decentralized application (Dapp) and it includes a voting mechanism to bring the most engaging content to it users.

Why Steem Blockchain is My Favorite

As I said earlier that am a novice to this blockchain network thing, but since I joined Steemit, I have learnt so much within a short while, it engaging activities have led me to read and know things I never knew before.

Even though they are several blockchain network, but steem blockchain network is one outstanding network that is uniting people all over the world, through this platform I get to know about the so many things happening round the world because of the great content created by people scattered all over the world.

Steem blockchain network and it Social media platform application called Steemit has been instrumental to the alleviation of poverty in our society at large because it provides income to every of her active content creator which is one thing that everybody craves for.

It has equally helped to reduce crimes and idleness around the youth. Because every member of the platform crack their head to see that they create a good content and to receive their reward. Most times idleness is what makes people do unimaginable thing that may lead them astray.

Steem blockchain network is network that grant it users ease in their navigation around the network, even though am new here it didn't take me much time to get acquainted with the network.

Steem blockchain network equally has an inbuilt system that allows her user change their steem crypto currency into a different crypto currency which makes life easy for it users.

Most blockchain network has a certain amount they demand from new user but this great blockchain has granted free access to anyone that wants to use it.

Does the network has some earliest shortcomings and how has the network's team taken care of the problem?

Most times when an organization is new it encounters different challenges that would help the organization become stronger. It's this challenge that helps the organization becomes stronger and better.

Steem blockchain network earlier had an attack by some hackers who transferred some of the funds of the users worth $85000 to Bittrex account. As soon as the situation happened it was reported by @dragonslayer109, which was taken by the team and they got the matter resolved and refunded the affect users which was reported to be about 260 users.

The Steemit server equally had issues with DDoS which led to the server being short down for maintenance and upgrade to be carried out and they introduced "blockchain-based multi factor anthentication" which helped in resolving the issue.

What changes do you think would make the network better?

For me this platform is not doing bad at all, but the thing I would say is that the platform needs to create a system that makes the newbies feel welcome into the platform. I observed that it is only those that are well known that enjoy most of the upvote from the Steem curators which is not bad for me because they deserve the reward for their hardwork, but if they can create a system that recognizes the newbies and equally encourages them it would go a long way in making them feel at home. Sometimes when I got to join new Community I observed that each Community has many subscribers but only few active members and I feel it is because of the issue of posting with voting.

Some Communities makes life difficult for us newbies by making some demands from the newbies that they are not equal to the task, for instance before asking someone to delegate to a Community before he can be supported by that Community one needs to know if the person has all it takes to delegate.

I really want to commend this platform for the good works they are doing knowing fully well that it not easy.
