There are conflicts we often time take upon ourselves which are not necessary. when you seek to do what God has determined to do for you, your efforts will turn out to be futile, because nobody can effectively do what is God’s to do.

“God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on His adversaries, and He reserveth wrath for His enemies” (Nahum 1:2).

Who are God’s enemies, those to whom He seeks to revenge? They are those who qualify as your enemies: Scriptures affirm; that, “the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon Me” (Psalm 69:9).

He has vowed to contend with them that contend with you. while Pharaoh and the whole of Egypt under him rejoiced in exacting upon the Israelites, having them as hewers of wood and fetchers of water; God had an agenda in place in a bid to revenge the Egyptians for all the toils they made His people to pass through. God hardened Pharaoh’s heart to the point of seeking to pursue the Israelites into the Red sea.

The drowning of Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea was all in a divine plan to revenge their hostility against His people. God is an avenger!

God sent Prophet Samuel to tell King Saul to go and utterly destroy the people of Amalek. What was their offence? God in His message to Saul said – “I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.

Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass” (1 Samuel 15:2-3). Whether the Israelites overlooked and had possibly forgiven the Amalekites was not the case here. God declared in isaiah 46:11b –

“I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it”.

It is vain for your enemies to seek to rejoice over you. they may feel comfortable in your ability to overlook their wickedness against you; but, the truth of the matter is that you are really not the issue, the God Whose you are and Whom you serve is the issue. He has vowed that, though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not go unpunished. The God Whose you are is an avenger.

If you hold your peace and let God fight your battles for you, victory shall be yours. When you learn to hand over everything to God, one thing is certain: You will see His Hands in everything. When the Israelites under Joshua went against the alliance of five nations that came against Gibeon, Joshua prevailed quite alright; but God was not satisfied with that level of victory. He opened the heavens and rained down hailstones. That is the God you serve. He is an avenger, His satisfaction is primary.
