Jesus whenever he could tried to go to the temple, he enjoyed sitting and teaching the culture and the highest truths of the Kingdom of Heaven. Suddenly there was a great commotion outside the temple, a crowd approached, shouting and complaining, dragging a woman. Her hair very disheveled, her clothes torn and in disarray, this woman was breathing very agitated and nervous, she tries to look a little defiant before the crowd, but her face gives her away, she wears between her eyes the expression of pain and shame, this woman was discovered in the act of adultery. Such a perfectly organized event could only be carried out by the syndicate of the temple, those who always believed they were right, those who sought at all costs to maintain the dominance and interests of the religious leadership of Israel, they were the Pharisees.

They throw her with force and contempt to the ground and without respite they impute her with the serious accusation of which all the people already know, perhaps the only thing this woman could do at that moment was to cover her face and look at the ground while the weight of the social condemnation of all the Jews lies on her weak and ashamed heart, one of the Pharisees takes the microphone and with the fluency of an experienced politician of our time addresses the son of God, puts him aware of the seriousness of what happened, no doubt this woman was in a big trouble, had failed seriously, a perfect case for the religious justice of the Pharisees to shine, as usual condemning without opportunity and hope the accused.

Jesus already knew the intention of the heart of all of them, while the Pharisees masterfully exposed the charges against the accused, the son of God had something more important to do, he draws with his finger on the sand, he has his face to the ground as that ashamed woman did, he intends to show a message to all those present, but also to all of us. Curiously only two people in that place outside the temple had their faces to the ground, one was that woman accused and found guilty, and the other was the knight of the cross, the ambassador of grace and forgiveness, the son of God, the one who was always innocent, pure and holy. Suddenly Jesus interrupts the audience by throwing before all present one of the most iconic phrases of our history as humanity, this phrase undoubtedly left everyone in that place paralyzed and without any argument or will that could hold the stone in his hands. This same truth continues to undress and confront in our times all those who pretend to point and judge from their own opinion, this statement continues to leave in evidence that, between human justice and the grace of God, there is a great abyss, an abysmal distance as our planet has with Pluto.

The show was over, the curtain had come down, the whole crowd was leaving because there was no great performance. That embarrassed woman continued with her face looking at the ground, Jesus is still in the same place, He who once created the universe, the constellations with all their stars hanging in a perfect firmament, continues in his role as a man and continues drawing on the sand.

Jesus raises his face, not to find out how it happened, not to inquire why he did it, he showed no intention that the woman was indebted to him, he only asked, "Where are those who condemned you? The woman, surprised but still with shame on her face, managed to answer "they left, Lord", the following words of Jesus were so exact and precise that they fit perfectly in the weak heart of that woman. I do not condemn you either, go and sin no more. I am sure that something liberating also happens in the heart of all of us, of all of us who have been more than once in the sand looking at the ground.

That woman had nowhere to hang her gaze, nowhere to hide the shame of her mistake, much less to hear from her Savior those liberating words with the scent of forgiveness. She knew that all was lost, her life would no longer be the same, society would be cruel to her. But in her darkness she met with those eyes that reflect forgiveness, with the gaze that heals the heart, she met with that kindness that calms and heals the soul. That day Jesus not only had plans to go to the temple, his intention was to go in search of that helpless woman. Today, more than two thousand years later, He continues to visit temples all over the world with the intention of finding a heart evicted by the crowd, to take the place of the condemned, to look once again at the ground and to draw on the sand His grace and forgiveness, to cover the guilt until He and the accused are left alone to tell us once again.
