SAVED BY HIS GRACE.

We live based on what Jesus accomplished for us on the cross of Calvary. In the words of the song writer – “All the way to Calvary He went for me. He died to set me free”. The Bible says in John 15:13 –
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends”.
Jesus went on to say in the following verse – “ye are My friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you”. The life of Jesus laid down for us, is the reason why we can serve God and live for Him acceptably. Our acceptance in God’s sight is nothing because of who we are in ourselves or what we can ever do. Our acceptance is in Christ Jesus: “To the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the Beloved” (Ephesians 1:7). Our acceptance before God is nothing because of what we have done so well; but, because of the work Jesus accomplished so well in our favor.
It’s all because of the merit of Jesus that has been credited to our account. God chooses to see the face of Jesus in all His dealings with us. Jesus is our righteousness; “Of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, Who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. That according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:30). We don’t glory in ourselves; we glory in Who Jesus has been made to become unto us. We glory in the face of the finished work that Jesus presents in our favor. Our highest good without the “face” of Jesus will not guarantee the kind of results we expect from God.
We are saved by what Jesus did so well. We live by faith in His finished work . the merit of Jesus is like an unscaleable wall set all around us, which no devil will ever be able to surmount to get at us in any way. Basking on the merit of Jesus, is making yourself an impossible task for your adversary the devil. If you think you have anything of your own to glory in; you will have the devil oppose you beyond what you can handle. On our own, we can do nothing; we are nothing without Christ. Christ in you is the hope you have for a brighter tomorrow and an eternity of bliss. It is something you can be so sure of, because He lives to ensure you get everything that He died for.
