TWO LEVELS OF ACTION.

Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything.
But because you say so, I will let down the nets.” Luke 5:5 (NIV)

Our text passage proffers two levels of action whose results were quite opposite. Actions make for living and it is something God reckons with so highly. If your actions matter to God, it mustn’t be seen to be ordinary to you. actions aligned with God’s Word goes with very far reaching effect.

When you learn to act upon the Word of God for your situation, you invoke the power of God over your situation; because action activates God’s power. The woman with the issue of blood in Scriptures suffered terribly from the hands of several physicians and her situation never got better. Seeing Jesus and having heard of His power to heal; she said to herself –

“If I may but touch His garment, I shall be made whole” (Matthew 9:21).

She didn’t stop at the talking, she actually took a step to touch the hem of His garment as she had purposed and instantly she got healed, the fountain of blood dried up. This was the result of a purposeful action.

There is so much that informs the kind of action men take in life. Nobody just gets up to do something or act in any particular way. There is a point from where actions emanate. It is either you are doing it out of self will or you are doing what God would have you do which is another level of action altogether. Peter and his team went on a fishing spree; they did all they knew to do, but to no avail.

The fishes just wouldn’t locate their net. At the point when they had given up; Jesus showed up and instructed them to launch out their net into the sea for a catch. Peter was confused because, they had toiled all night and caught nothing, but he owed up to the instruction from the lips of the Master and proclaimed – “Nevertheless at Thy Word, I will let down the net”.

It doesn’t matter what you have tried to do on your own or what you have done as a result of what you saw others do; which obviously didn’t yield results: so much sets into play when you receive God’s instruction and you act based on His Word. This is a level of action that guarantees result. Peter obeyed and they inclosed a great multitude of fishes that their net began to break and their boat began to sink.

Net breaking and boat sinking miracles sets in, when you set out to act based on what the Lord has told you. like Peter, it doesn’t matter whether you have done it before in the same way the Lord would have you do it. Whatsoever He says for you to do, go ahead and do it. Many get too familiar with divine processes and they lose out. God stands by His Word to perform it. Stay hooked to His instructions and let it be because He said it and not necessarily because it is the kind of a thing in vogue.
