With all humility and meekness patiently endured one another in love. (EPHESIANS 4: 2)

You decide to be patient, you respond appropriately (positively) to a negative situation. You are slow to get angry, you decide to keep your composure instead of getting angry easily. Instead of being impatient and demanding, love helps you calm down and begin to show mercy to those around you.

Anger at an unjust action, ironically, generates new grievances. Anger rarely makes things better. On the contrary, patience stops any controversy in its tracks, rather than biting your lip, rather than covering your mouth with your hand, patience is a deep sigh, which clears the atmosphere, it does not let foolishness threaten your feelings. It is the decision to control your feelings instead of allowing them to control you.

If your spouse offends you. Do you retaliate quickly or do you stay in control? Is anger your default emotional state when treated unfairly? If so, you are spreading poison instead of medicine. In general, anger occurs when a strong desire for something is mixed with disappointment or pain. You don't get what you want and the temperature inside you starts to rise.

It is often an emotional reaction that arises from our foolishness or bad motivations.
Instead, patience makes us wise. I do not know how to rush to conclusions but rather listen to what the other person says.

Just as a lack of patience will transform your home into a combat zone, practicing patience will promote peace and quiet. "An angry man promotes strife, but he who is slow to anger appeases quarrel" (Proverbs 15:18). Affirmations like these are clear principles that have eternal relevance. Patience is the point where love meets wisdom.

Patience helps you give your spouse permission to be human. Understand that we all fail. When a mistake is made, you decide to give it more time than it deserves to correct it. It gives you the ability to endure during difficult times in your relationship, rather than fleeing from pressure.

How would the tone and volume of your home be if you tried the following biblical approach? "See that no one pays another evil for evil; before always follow what is good for one another, and for everyone" (1 Thessalonians 5: 15) Few of us find patience facial, and none comes naturally, yet the sages will consider it the essential ingredient for their marital relationship.

For the next day decide to show patience and not say anything negative to your spouse. It is better to hold back than to express something that you will later regret. "19 For this reason, my beloved brothers, every man is quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;
20 why the anger of man does not work the justice of God (James 1: 19-20).

God bless you greatly.
