Holy Bible Reina Valera 1960 - Proverbs 18 12

Before destruction the heart of man is lifted up, And before honor is dejection.

To enter into an analysis of this verse we must first know the following terms:

Pride: pride can be said to be an excessive feeling of satisfaction, pride brings with it haughtiness, arrogance, vanity, arrogance and even contempt. Biblically pride is a kind of exaggerated self-esteem that blinds its possessor to weaknesses and dangers and opens the way to their humiliation and destruction.

Brokenness:The meaning of brokenness in the bible It is to humble the heart so that it is submissive, commanding and receptive to the voice of God.
Honor:Honor is the respect and good opinion that one has of the moral qualities and the dignity of a person.

Dejection:It is the state of the person who has lost physical or moral strength, energy or spirit. The bible explains to us through this verse that when the heart of man becomes puffed up, proud and filled with pride then brokenness comes.

Because pride leads to a path of destruction. A person full of pride will always think that he is superior to others, this is a characteristic that God hates, the bible gives us many examples and verses about it, a heart that is elevated has no place for God, if you comment on your life in the money, power or fame you will only have an empty life, the price to pay is quite high, since God looks at the haughty from afar.

However humble people are making the way to honor, it is so simple, a haughty person will find destruction, a humble person will find honor.

When the bible speaks of humility, it does not mean that you should underestimate or belittle yourself but rather a sensitive person to be as God wants him to be, a person who allows himself to be molded and corrected.

Nobody likes to go through difficult times, but when God wants to give you something special it is necessary for him to prepare you to receive it, when pain comes into your life and you feel tired or dejected, remember that God is with you, when you are close to reaching a goal the path becomes more difficult, but remember in that moment that when this happens you will be ready to receive honor.

Before receiving honor must you be put down? Yes, everything good in life is achieved based on effort and sacrifices, to be a professional you must spend years of study before receiving title honors, to be successful in a business, you must first strive to build it and so on many more examples we could find.

So do not be discouraged if you are broken because you must become a humble person in order to achieve the honor that God has promised.

Sin tends to make us haughty sometimes because of our human nature but it's always better to be humble towards fellow humans, there's more blessings in that
