Once again we have a date with art and writing. For this 108th edition, the guest artist is Gerard ter Borch.

This distinguished Dutch artist was born in December 1617 in the province of Overijssel. He received his first artistic training from his father, who was also a painter.

He traveled to London, Germany, France, Spain and Italy between 1635 and 1641.

He stood out as a portrait and genre painter.

He died in Deventer in 1681.

Here are three of his works so that you can choose the one you like best to write about. The first is titled An Officer Dictating a Letter (1657-58), the second, The Visit of the Suitor (1658) and the third Lady at her Dressing Table (1660).
