Nancy Grace Roman is literally the mother of Hubble, I mean the scientist obviously, this observatory will simultaneously provide powerful capabilities to make revolutionary astrophysical discoveries from what we have in our solar system, to the most distant and deep universe and of course everything that there is in the middle.

It will have a field of view at least 100 times larger than Hubble, as China announced a few months ago, one of the telescopes it is developing is of the Hubble type and would also be with this power more or less 100 times more powerful than Hubble, imagine 100 times more powerful than Hubble, it will tell me the light of a billion galaxies during its useful life and will also be able to block the light of stars, to be able to directly see those planets and planet-forming disks.

When I say seeing those planets directly it is no longer seeing the eclipse or mini eclipse of that planet passing in front of its star, it is the light that the planet reflects from its star just as we see Jupiter or Venus, that would be the level of precision of this future telescope and with all this we are going to collect an impressive amount of data and try to solve some of the mysteries, such as dark energy, search for potentially habitable planets and other mysteries of current astrophysics.

And not only are the proposed ones going to be a marvel, but the habitable worlds observatory is also being developed, this is one of the preliminary designs has not yet been determined, by the way, some want to propose that it be called the Carl Sagan observatory, it seems to me a good idea, it is a Mission concept that would already be specialized to search for habitable planets beyond our solar system, at the moment it is called HWO for its acronym in English.

This observatory can examine these planets, their atmosphere and determine if life could exist, by examining the atmosphere with these capabilities, capabilities that James Webb already touches upon by the way, keep in mind that the atmosphere is like a cocktail a cocktail of gases of all kinds the activity, of volcanoes, the activity of the ocean, the activity of the chemical processes that occur on that planet because they alter the atmosphere of a world both on Earth, on Mars, on Venus, and in the case of Earth, beings. alive we have altered our atmosphere in a way peculiar with a very specific type of gases and molecules that can be detected and if a type of molecule is detected that is its own and exclusive that can only be produced by life forms, bingo.

If on top of that the planet is in the habitable zone and if on top of that we have data that that world can have water in abundance and is more likely to contain life, we will have found a world that can never be said 100% that it has life but that practically has all the " ballots” to have it, it is not always possible to say 100% that it has life because until we get there and confirm it directly we could not affirm it, unless they send us a message.
