Creative Object Challenge: The Lamp Post // by @christianyocte
Hello, Creative Fellows!
I would like to share my artwork and painting for the contest initiated by @soygrecia here in our creative and wonderful community, Draft Crearte. This contest is very fun because you have to make use of an everyday object in your artwork. In my case, I use my small screwdriver which I used for many fastening works with screws. So, without further ado, here is my work:
Did you notice right away the screwdriver which is part of the Lamp Post?
It took me sometime to think what to do to participate in the contest. I have seen artworks like this before on instagram. But, I never had the chance to make one until now. This technique or style requires a great amount of imagination. So, I really salute the creative people who can make something like this.
Now let me show you the materials and the tools that I used for this masterpiece. I love calling my artworks masterpieces because I always do the best every time!
- My Mont Marte Sketchbook
- Koi Watercolors
- Mongol Pencil
- Masking Tape
- Kneaded Eraser
- Faber Castell Watercolor Brushes
- Water
- Sakura White Pen
- Black Pilot Pentel Pen
- The Screwdriver
Let me also share the steps or the process in order to do this challenge. I hope you will enjoy it.
First, I used the masking tape and make a border to create a protection to the edges of the paper.
Second, I used my pencil to make a sketch of a lamp post and a girl.
Third, I started painting the sky with blue and violet.
Fourth, I also added black watercolor paint for the sky.
Fifth, I used a black watercolor to make a silhouette of a girl.
Sixth, I added silhouette of grasses and also painted using yellow watercolor with the lamp.
Seventh, I added another layer of colors to the sky. I use layering for more saturation and opaqueness of the painting.
When I was happy of the result, I used the white pen to make the stars. I also placed the screwdriver to complete the lamp post. Finally, I removed the masking tape when the watercolor dried up!
Those were the steps of making this masterpiece. This is my first comeback using watercolors. I did enjoy making and doing this challenge so I really hope you also enjoyed your time here. God bless!
I am also inviting my friends, @lunajey, @rye143, @jenesa to participate and join this contest. But first you have to be verified to this community: Welcome to DraftCrearte! | Rules for User Verification
