The weather here in my neck of the woods is still warm and brightly blue and not uncomfortably cool...er
The weather her in my tropical country is different compared to other tropical country. It gets cooler and sometimes too uncomfortable for comfort when the winds coming from Siberia would influence our weather system and makes everyone long for using jackets and jogging pants even during the day while most really would also avoid showering because the water which is always not coming from heated water source and either coming directly from water pump if not from the tap is chilly. However, most will just heat water using a kettle and use the hot water to pour it to a big pail of collected water and that will make the water's temperature much better for showering.
My mother would always insist of me using a warm water because she would say that it is too cold. If it is my dialysis schedule it is automatic that she will heat the water for me prior for my taking my shower. But I am a heavy water user so I end-up using water from the tap which is chillier and by the time I finish-up my early morning shower, I cannot already feel sections of my hands and feet.
After using the bathroom my mother would then ask me if I wanted a bag of hot water. I will answer her "Yes mother" and then she will proceed in putting hot water from the Thermos into a food grade plastic bag with no handles, that type that we use to put food into and is used mainly for the purpose and also used by the restaurants or eateries here. My mother then ties it shut with a knot so that it will not spill. She will insert it to a thin pillow case, that elongated pillow case used by little babies as their guard or border so that they will be secured for rolling when they are sleeping.
It is basically a better version of a warm compress and I use it to relieve some itchy parts of my skin and also to warm-up my hands and feet made numb by my relatively longer use of the bathroom. I cannot speed-up my showering like a normal person can because I have to make sure not to make bad body movements in the bathroom so that I can avoid injury and accidents. I have to slowly do my systematic scrubbing to clean myself and it takes time. Sometimes I would spend more than thirty minutes cleaning my body and by the time I am finished-up, I already can't feel my hands and feet.
Well, I experienced far worse years ago particularly when I was still anemic and reliant of blood transfusions. It is because when a person is anemic, he/she cannot tolerate showering even in the heat of the middle of the day. You will be like a wet puppy shivering after going out of the shower and going straight to bed to use the blanket to warm yourself up again. It depends on the severity of anemia and I had a lot of years suffering from it until God gave me the miracle of not requiring blood transfusions and EPO injections anymore because my anemic condition miraculously went away.
Now even though I would use cold water in the morning, it is still ok for me to do so even though my limbs would get cold in the process, I will not shiver around anymore like a trembling... whatever thing trembles.
Anyway, maybe I am just assessing the weather too much early because maybe the weather will again turn more cooler in the coming weeks because after all the month of January still has not come yet and we still have about two weeks until January where yes it gets cold but I hope that the temperature remains the same for the reason that of course it gets difficult to use the bathroom as the cold water from the tap is uncomfortable to use because i often will use up the warm water prepared by my mother and finish up using the cool water coming from the tap.
God-willing if my plans for having a new house built from the ground-up here in our place, I will make it sure that we would no longer have to use the old kettle way of heating the water so that I will not have to worry about using the cold water anymore especially both of my parents who had gotten sensitive for taking a bath/shower over the years as they got older and cannot take shower without the water from the pail being warmed-up first by pouring boiling water from the kettle. You might ask if why I am not doing to affix water heater to out old bathroom, well the reason is that I can still do without it anyway and that I had gone accustomed with using cold water already even though it gets too cold sometimes but I can tolerate it anyway.

I too wash with cold water and I hate it but it's the best/fastest/cheapest or whatever you call it way. I rather sit in a hot tub though but the house is too cold and at the time that tub is full the water is cold.
I use hot water bags too, we all do. We take one in bed if needed and at daytimes if it's cold one on the lap and if you place your hands on it you can warm them as well. It also helps to relief pain so it's a good and simple thing.
If my feet are very cold it's faster to put them in a bucket with hot water and that's perphaps what you should do too if your wash with cold water.
If the sun is still warm I wonder if a tank or black bag filled with water and warmed by the sun can help showering. Can be it's not enough but at least the water won't be that cold. They use those bags also for camping, no need for electricity and such.
I use something like this they last for many years and many people use it. Just filling it with water can be a bit dangerous if there's air in it.
camping shower might be a solution and there are different types.
I don't think 30 minutes in the bathroom is long. Those I know all to seem to be there for ages unlike me. That endless shivering in bed is terrible as well.
Although you say that you can handle the cold and still manage I do believe you should see if you can find a solution to have a bit warmer water because at the time you can no longer stand it, it might be too late and it does affect your health. I also think it might help your mom by not always putting the kettle on and taking care of those extra preparations.
I wonder about the type of plastic bag you use to fill with hot water since the plastic we have here will not keep the water inside and I wouldn't know how to tight it that the water won't escape.
By the way for the animals in the shelter I ran I used bottles (glass) and filled them with hot water and wrapped a cloth or pillow case or diaper around it like indeed is done with babies. It did help to keep them warm or at least warmer than without.
I wish you a warm day/night without cold water.
