Hello everyone. Last week we visited Sant Joan de Moró. According to what I’ve read, one of the best mineral water sources in the world is located here. In Sant Joan de Moró, local cafes and restaurants offer large sandwiches for breakfast on Saturdays. We had some food here before heading to the mineral water source.

At the end of our journey, we arrived in Benassal. This is an old town with roots in the Middle Ages. The houses were very charming. It’s a mountainous area and hazelnut farming is popular here. Hazelnuts and the local mineral water are well-known. When we visited, the weather was a bit cloudy, there was rain and then heavy fog. Benasal has a population of around 1000 people. The climate is Mediterranean. Summers are not too hot, there’s no humid heat like by the sea and winters are cooler.

Some of the buildings here date back to the 13th and 14th centuries. Benassal is an Arab-origin town with a historical settlement. Despite the foggy weather, it had a unique atmosphere. There are many historical buildings here and the bell tower was built before World War II.

We reached the mineral water source. This water is said to be recommended for kidney diseases and is generally beneficial for health. There’s also a balneology center here, but it’s currently closed. The weather was a bit cool, around 13-15°C when we visited. There is also a small village nearby, 9 km away, known for its medieval walls and historical buildings.

This place is one of those less-known spots for tourists. As we continued along the road, we enjoyed the beautiful autumn atmosphere around us. Benassal is truly an atmospheric and interesting place. The spa center is currently not in operation. Right next to the source, there is a playground and a viewing platform. There’s also a nature reserve, surrounded by forests.
