Red house Part I, home of William Morris
The Red House is a significant Arts and Crafts building in Bexleyheath, designed by the architect Philip Webb and the designer William Morris in 1859. It was designed to become William Morris’ family home.
The house has been left as it was found after previous owners lived here, but several areas have had paint painstakingly removed to see the original colours underneath. The original art house interior was very red/orange and incredibly bold in its colour scheme.
