Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery, Exeter
The royal Albert memorial museum aka RAMM Is the largest museum in the city of Exeter and has diverse collections from zoology, anthropology, fine art, archaeology and geology. It holds over 1 million objects. It was founded in 1868 and the site for the museum was donated by Richard Sommers Gard, who was an MP for Exeter from 1857 to 1864. A competition was ran to design the building, which attracted twenty-four entries, a gothic design by John Hayward, was declared the winner.
The museum was extended multiples times over the years as the collections grew. It was awarded museum of the year after its major refurbishment in 2012
I loved this model that shows the entirety of Exeter.
