Hello to everyone who likes to see new places,

I haven't shared anything with you on my travel blog for a long time. With this sharing, I will bring you a very special one. This place is in Turkey's Karabük/Safranbolu province. The houses here preserve their 18th and 19th century structures until today.

It was included in the list of world cultural heritage by UNESCO in 1994. I would like to share with you a few researches I have done about these houses. I learned that egg whites were added to the cement of these houses and their foundation was made at the bottom of the earth. In this way, they state that these houses withstand earthquakes for a long time.

SAFRANBOLU Observation Terrace

I came here with my wife. I knew about this place before, but I did not have the opportunity to travel in detail. When we came here, we had our fill in the city center. It had a small market. After visiting the place briefly, we learned that there is a terrace where we can see it from above.

We had the opportunity to enter this terrace at a very affordable price. The entrance fee was about 1 Steem. We had the opportunity to watch all the Safranbolu houses around from the terrace. I learned that another feature of these houses is that they do not block each other's way. The white paint outside the building and the exterior architecture look very nice. I would like to live in these houses. 😊

They have made a nice seat to relax on this terrace. Even if you are alone in cold and rainy weather, this seat can accompany you. He makes friends with you. As you can see in the photo below, he became a good friend to me 😊 He gives me his own umbrella so that I don't get wet when there are dark clouds in the photo. When it gets dark, it will be light in my darkness with its lamp. 😊

Seeing many historical buildings in this place, which is surrounded by mountains, makes this place really important. There are small and authentic hotels among the tourists who come here. I have stayed in historical hotels before. I had really good experiences. I advise.

SAFRANBOLU Streets. Taking its name from saffron.

Since the places where I live are crowded, I need to rest my head. This place was not crowded as it is a small and small place with few people living here. Tourists come, but they go back and forth during the day. We did the same.

It was a pleasure to watch from above. My wife and I wanted to pass through these houses and walk on stony roads. This place, which is beautiful in every street, made us relax while we were visiting.

I had the opportunity to take beautiful photos while walking around the street. There were houses whose lower floor was covered with stone and the upper floor was painted with white paint. These houses with wooden shutters and flowers in front of them looked like they came out of a fairy tale.

I want to give you another important information. When the name SAFRANBOLU is considered in Turkish, SAFRAN means Safran and BOLU means a lot. Saffron, the most expensive spice in the world, is grown here. Saffron flower is used in the manufacture of cosmetics, food and medicine. That's why, because there is a lot of saffron here, the name of this place has been SAFRANBOLU.
